Order Links for Stationery and Packaging Wholesalers

Order links for stationery and packaging wholesalers let your buyers order notebooks, pens, tape, cartons and poly bags themselves from a link you send on WhatsApp. The buyer opens it in his phone's browser, searches your items, enters quantities, and gives his name, mobile number and, if he has one, his GST number before tapping Place order. The order then reaches you in Takkada. When the GST number matches a party in your books, the order shows that match, and you confirm it or pick the right party yourself. You can change quantities and rates, then press Create order for a Sales Order or Create invoice to bill. Your office computer's sync then carries that voucher into Tally. The page sends items and quantities only, so rates come from the option you chose, from Tally rates to no prices at all.

Two kinds of buyer, one counter

A stationery and packaging wholesaler with 200 accounts serves two crowds. Stationery shops buy in waves, heaviest before the school year and exam season, and many are small accounts you have billed only a few times. Packaging buyers, such as sweet shops, small manufacturers and online sellers, buy cartons, tape and bags every few weeks and expect a GST bill. Credit runs 15 to 45 days. Both send orders as photos of a list or a long voice note, and new shops often send no firm name at all.

The GST number does the introductions

On the company-wide link, the details step asks for "Your name or business name", a 10-digit mobile number, and "GST number (optional)". A packaging buyer types his GSTIN and taps Get my business name, and the page finds the name registered to that number and fills it in if his name box is empty. If the lookup fails, he types the name himself and the order still goes through.

When that GST number already belongs to a party in your books, the order arrives in Customer orders with "Matches" and the party name. You tap Yes, that is them. When there is no match, you pick the party from your books before approving.

Finding the right pack size

Stationery and packaging lists are long and full of near twins: the same notebook in 120 and 200 pages, the same carton in five sizes. The buyer searches by a word from your item name, filters with category chips when your items sit in two or more groups, and sees each item with the unit it is sold in. Under Items on this link you can switch off items you do not want offered.

Under Prices customers see, choose Tally rates, Last billed rate, a Tally price level, your own prices for the link, or Don't show prices. The cart shows a total before GST when every item has a rate.

Approving into Tally

Open the order, confirm the party, and check each line's Quantity, Rate (excl. GST) and Disc %. Pick the sales ledger. The screen tells you whether CGST and SGST or IGST will be added on top of the rates. Press Create order or Create invoice.

For accounts that order every few weeks, send a personal link from the party page; it opens with "Ordering for" and their name and skips the GST step. The WhatsApp order link for distributors guide covers both link types, and the order booking app for Tally page shows the screens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can a shop that is not yet in my books order?

A: Anyone with the company-wide link can send an order. To approve it, you match it to a party ledger in your books, so a brand-new shop needs its ledger first.

Q: What does the GST number do?

A: It can fill the buyer's registered name, and it lets the app suggest a matching party from your books. You still confirm the party.

Q: Will IGST be applied for an out-of-state buyer?

A: The order screen works out the tax for the confirmed party and shows whether CGST and SGST or IGST will be added.

Q: Can buyers see my stock?

A: No. Stock quantities are never shown. You can hide items Tally shows at zero or less.
