The WhatsApp reminder went out. Now what?

The WhatsApp reminder went out. Now what?

The reminder went out at nine in the morning. Two blue ticks by eleven. Two days later, the bill is still open.

Every distributor knows this moment. WhatsApp reminders work for the parties who were going to pay anyway. For the rest, the next step is a phone call, and that is where collections quietly stall.

Why the follow-up call doesn't happen

Nobody in the office wants to make it. The accountant is busy with entries. The salesman doesn't want to spoil the relationship with a shop he visits every week. The owner means to do it after lunch, then after dispatch, then tomorrow.

When the call does happen, three things go wrong:

  1. It happens late. A party who gets a call on day 3 behaves differently from one who gets it on day 30.
  2. It happens unevenly. The big parties get called. The forty small ones with ₹8,000 each never do, and together they are a large number.
  3. Nothing gets written down. "Sahab, Friday tak kar denge" is said on the phone, and nobody records the Friday. Next week someone calls again and hears the same promise.

What a follow-up call actually needs to do

A good collection call is short and boring. It says who is calling, what is due, and asks when it will be paid. Then it writes down the answer, whether that is a date, a dispute, or "call me back on Monday".

That is exactly the kind of task a machine can do every day without getting tired or embarrassed.

How Takkada handles it

Takkada's AI collection calls pick up where the WhatsApp reminder stops.

You open outstanding by party and by age, with the collector on each.

You tick the overdue parties, or a whole ledger group, and tap Call with AI. A confirm sheet shows how many parties and how much is due.

An AI agent calls every party with a pending payment, in their own language. It names your business, says what is due, and asks when it will be paid.

What the party says, whether a promise with a date, a dispute, a callback request or an escalation, is logged as a follow-up against that party.

The forty small parties get the same call as the big ones, on the same day.

What it costs

Calling is charged per connected minute, and the cost is shown before you confirm. Compare that with a salary for someone whose whole job is dialling. AI calling is switched on per company on request and sits on top of the Copilot plan.
