AI Calling for Payment Collection: Overdue Parties Called Automatically from Tally

AI calling for payment collection means your overdue parties get a phone call asking for payment without anyone in your office dialling. In Takkada, you open Send reminders now, tick the parties who owe you money, and tap Call with AI, and an AI agent calls each one in the language you set, names your business and the amount due from your Tally books, and asks when they will pay. What the party says comes back as a follow-up on that party: Will pay with a promised amount and date, No answer, Wrong number, Disputes amount or Refused, along with a note and, once ready, a recording you can play. If a party misses the date they promised, the AI can call them again on its own, a set number of days later. This guide covers what the call knows before it dials, what it writes back, the settings you control, and where it sits next to your WhatsApp reminders and your own team's calls.

The call your office keeps postponing

Every distributor on Tally has the same list: forty or fifty parties past their credit days, each owing between ₹8,000 and ₹2,00,000. The WhatsApp reminder was read. The next step is a phone call, and that call loses to dispatch, GST work and the customer at the counter.

When the call does happen, your accountant hears "Saturday tak kar denge" and the promise lives in one person's memory until it is broken.

What the AI knows before it dials

The call is built from your books, so the number the party hears matches your ledger. Each call carries your business name, the total amount due, a summary of the bills behind it, how many days they are overdue, the last payment received and, if there was one, the promise the party made last time.

What comes back after the call

Each call is logged as a follow-up against the party, tagged AI. It carries:

  • The outcome, from the same list your team uses: Will pay, No answer, Wrong number, Disputes amount, Refused or Other
  • A promise, saved as an amount and a date together, only when the party gave both
  • A next follow-up date, when the party asked to be called back at a certain time
  • A note with what they said, plus the dispute reason, the disputed invoice, who picked up, or a payment date and reference if they claim they already paid
  • A recording you can play from the party's timeline once it is ready

With the Recovery dashboard on, the result lands on the party's follow-up timeline next to your team's own calls. Without it, it shows on the party's bills page under AI call results.

The settings you control

Under Payment Reminders, the AI calling screen holds the rules: calling hours (10:00 to 18:00 by default), calling days (Monday to Saturday by default) and a cap on AI calls per party per month (four by default). You pick one of twelve languages, listed in the FAQ below. Tone is Polite or Firm, and you can give a callback number for parties to ring.

With "Call again when a promise is missed" on, a party who misses a promised payment is called again a set number of days later. The AI also tries again on the next calling day when a party did not pick up or gave no date. One switch and one monthly cap control both, and these calls are tagged AI · auto.

Who the AI will not call

Some parties are skipped, and the result sheet names each one with the reason: no phone number on the ledger, the party asked not to be called, a call is already queued, nothing is overdue any more, the party is outside your ledger scope, or the monthly AI call limit for that party is reached. The cost is shown on the confirm sheet before you tap Call now.

Where it fits

WhatsApp reminders still go first, and your team still handles the parties who need a personal visit. AI collection calls take the long middle of the list, the parties who will pay once someone asks clearly and writes the answer down. Trade-specific guides cover FMCG distributors, pharma distributors and auto parts dealers, and the setup guide has the taps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the AI call every overdue party on its own?

A: The first call always starts with you ticking parties and tapping Call with AI. After that, the AI calls again by itself after a missed promise, or on the next calling day when a party did not pick up or gave no date. One switch turns this off.

Q: Which languages can the AI call in?

A: Twelve: Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Odia, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. You pick one in the AI calling settings.

Q: Does the call result change anything in Tally?

A: No. The result is a follow-up on the party in Takkada. Tally changes only when the party pays and the receipt is entered.
