Order links for bakery and dairy suppliers give your shops one standing link for its daily order, so tomorrow's bread, buns, milk and paneer arrive as a typed list instead of a string of evening calls. The shop owner opens the same link from his WhatsApp chat each evening, searches your items, enters quantities, writes a note like "6 AM delivery", and taps Place order. Each night's orders collect in Customer orders in Takkada. You confirm the shop, adjust a quantity if production is short, and press Create order for a Sales Order or Create invoice to bill. What you create reaches Tally once the office computer syncs. The link keeps working until you rotate it, disable it, or send that shop a fresh personal link, so a shop does not need a new link each day. The page sends items and quantities only, and you decide whether it shows rates or none at all.
Every shop, every evening
A bakery or dairy supplier delivering to 80 shops and tea stalls runs on a daily cycle. Orders come in the evening, production and packing run overnight, and vehicles leave at dawn. Credit is short, often weekly. The order is small but it comes every day from every shop, mostly by phone between 7 and 10 PM, written on a sheet by whoever picks up. A missed call means a shop with no bread at 7 AM.
One standing link per shop
Set up the company-wide link once in Settings, Order link and send it to your shops. The address stays the same until you rotate or disable it, or the order link is switched off, so the shop owner scrolls up in your chat and opens it again each evening.
For regular shops, a personal link works better. Send it from the shop's party page with Share order link. It opens with "Ordering for" and the shop's name, skips the name and GST questions, and asks him only to confirm his mobile number. The order arrives already matched to that shop. Personal links need the Personal party links module on top of the Order Link add-on.
On the page the shop owner types "pav" or "toned" and picks from your items, each shown with its unit. He sets quantities, checks Your order, and adds the delivery time in the note box.
Prices that rarely change
Daily goods usually carry steady rates, so Tally rates under Prices customers see suits them; the cart then shows a total before GST when every item has a rate. My own prices lets you type a rate per item for the link if your shop rate differs from Tally. Don't show prices is there too. The shop cannot change a rate, because the page sends only items and quantities.
Checking the night's orders
By 10 PM, open Customer orders and filter by New. Each row shows the shop name, item count, and value excluding GST where priced.
Open each one, confirm the shop, and lower a Quantity if a product ran short. Press Create order or Create invoice. If a shop sent the same order twice, Reject the second. The WhatsApp order link for distributors guide has the full flow and the order booking app for Tally page shows the screens.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the shop need a new link every day?
A: No. The same link works until you rotate it, disable it, or send that shop a fresh personal link.
Q: Can a shop repeat yesterday's order with one tap?
A: No. He enters quantities each time. Searching your item names keeps it quick.
Q: Can I see all of tonight's orders in one place?
A: Yes. Customer orders lists them, and the New filter shows the ones you have not acted on.
Q: What happens to an order I cannot fulfil?
A: Change the quantity before you create the order, or Reject it. A rejected order sends nothing to Tally.
