Order links for FMCG distributors let a kirana order between salesman visits by opening a link you sent on WhatsApp, picking items from your list and tapping Place order. In Takkada the order lands in your Customer orders inbox, where you confirm which party it is, check quantities and rates, and press Create order to make a Sales Order, which Tally picks up at the next sync from your office computer. The retailer needs no app and no login; he types his mobile number when he sends the order. You choose what prices the page shows, from your Tally rates to no prices at all, and the page sends only items and quantities, so a retailer cannot set his own rate. The salesman keeps his beat. The link covers the days he is somewhere else, and the shops your beat plan reaches only once a week or once a fortnight.
The week between visits
An FMCG distributor with five salesmen and 250 kiranas runs a weekly beat. Monday is one market, Tuesday another. Credit runs 7 to 15 days, and margins are thin enough that a missed order is a lost order. When a kirana runs short of a fast-moving biscuit on Thursday and his salesman comes on Monday, he calls the office, sends a voice note, or buys from the wholesaler down the road.
The voice notes are the expensive part. Somebody plays them in the morning, works out that "chhota wala pack" means the 50 gram, and types a sales order into Tally.
One link in every retailer group
Set up the company-wide link once in Settings, Order link: your public business name, your WhatsApp number, and what prices customers see. Create the link and paste it into your retailer broadcast or the chats you already have.
A kirana opens it in his phone's browser. He types "bis" in the search box and your biscuit items appear, each showing the unit it is sold in. He adds quantities, checks Your order, gives his shop name and mobile number, and taps Place order. He gets an order number and a button to tell you on WhatsApp.
Pricing for a trade where rates move
FMCG rates change with every scheme and every price revision. Under Prices customers see, Tally rates shows the selling rate on each item. Last billed rate shows the rate from your most recent bill for that item. If your schemes make the printed rate misleading, Don't show prices lets retailers pick items only, and you price the order when you approve it. In every mode the page sends item and quantity, and the rate is worked out on your side.
Approving the morning's orders
Next morning, before the vans are loaded, open Customer orders and filter by New. Each order shows the buyer name, item count and, where priced, the value excluding GST.
Open one. If the app matched the shop to a party in your books, tap Yes, that is them; otherwise pick the party yourself. Check the Quantity, Rate (excl. GST) and Disc % on each line, pick the sales ledger, and press Create order. The Sales Order is then an ordinary sales order in your books, the same as one your salesman booked, ready to bill when the goods go.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will retailers order instead of waiting for the salesman?
A: Retailers who already message you orders get a list to pick from instead of typing or recording a voice note. The salesman still visits his beat, and a link order becomes a Sales Order once you approve it.
Q: Can I stop retailers seeing items I have run out of?
A: Yes. Switch off Show items that are out of stock and items Tally shows at zero or less drop off the list. Keep it on if your stock figures are not kept up to date.
Q: What if a retailer orders the wrong quantity?
A: Change the Quantity on that line before you press Create order. Nothing goes to Tally until you do.
Q: Can one retailer see another retailer's order?
A: No. Each order goes to your inbox only. The retailer sees his own order number and summary after he places it.
