Recovery Dashboard for Textile Traders with Agent-Booked Parties

A recovery dashboard for textile traders keeps every promise on record, including the ones that reach you second-hand through the agent who booked the party. In Takkada, you tap Mark followed up on the party in Collections or Bills Receivable, choose how the word came, and save the promise as an amount with a date. When the agent calls to say "party will send ₹3,20,000 by the 10th", log it with Other as the channel and the agent's name in the note, so anyone in the office can see where the promise came from. Once the promised date passes, Takkada checks the party's receipts in your Tally books and marks the promise kept, part paid or missed. The daily brief at the top of the Recovery screen lists the promises due today, the follow-ups due and the missed promises each morning. The Team tab shows which overdue parties nobody in your office has followed up, however long the credit period.

How textile credit really works

A typical textile wholesaler sells to 150 to 400 parties across several states, and most of them were brought in by commission agents. Credit runs long, 60 to 120 days and sometimes more, and bills of ₹1 lakh to ₹6 lakh are routine in the season.

The trader rarely speaks to the party directly. The agent books the order, the agent hears the excuses, and the agent passes on the promised date over a phone call. By the time the date comes, the office has three versions of what was said, and no one is sure which agent covers which party.

Logging a promise that came through the agent

The Log follow-up sheet takes Call, WhatsApp, In person or Other as the channel, and one outcome: Will pay, No answer, Wrong number, Disputes amount, Refused or Other. A promise needs an amount and a date together. Put the agent's name and what he said in the note, like "per agent, after Pongal sales, part by cheque".

Already tried shows the last five entries on that party, each with who logged it, the outcome, the time and the note. When the agent rings again with a new date, the office sees the old promise first. A next follow-up date brings the party back into the brief on the day you planned to check.

Checking the promise against Tally

After the promised date, the party's receipts in Tally up to that date decide the status. All of it received reads Promise kept, part reads Part paid, nothing reads Promise missed. If Takkada's copy of your Tally data has not caught up past that date, the promise shows Awaiting confirmation until it does.

The daily brief also lists Awaiting confirmation and Top overdue, and Share on WhatsApp sends the brief's text to whoever you choose, such as the partner who speaks to the agents.

The long view on long credit

On long credit, the parties that hurt are the ones nobody remembers to chase. The Team tab shows Recovered, Still out, Dealers worked and Promises kept, and a Nobody has chased line that counts overdue parties with no follow-up at all. Tap it to see them.

Each party on the Parties tab shows who in your office is chasing it, or Not yet chased, and a company admin can move a party to someone else. The History tab shows one card per party, latest activity first, with the newest entry, the number of logs and any open promise, plus search by party and a filter by team member.

Parties far away also respond to WhatsApp payment reminders from Tally between agent calls. The recovery dashboard for Tally guide explains each tab.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I log a promise the agent passed on?

A: Open the party, tap Mark followed up, pick Other as the channel, enter the amount and date, and write the agent's name in the note.

Q: Will the app show which promises the agents' parties broke?

A: Yes. Once your Tally data in Takkada has caught up past the promised date, a party with no receipt by that date appears under Missed promises in the daily brief, whoever relayed the promise.

Q: Our credit is 90 days. Can I set a follow-up that far out?

A: Yes. Promise and next follow-up dates can be set up to a year ahead.

Q: Is anything changed in Tally?

A: No. The follow-up record stays in Takkada, and Tally receipts are only read to check promises.
