A recovery dashboard for Tally keeps your follow-ups, promises to pay and missed dates against the party they belong to, so your whole team works from one record. In Takkada, whoever chases a payment taps Mark followed up on the party in Collections or Bills Receivable, picks how they reached the party and what happened, and can add a promised amount with a date, a next follow-up date and a note. Once a promised date passes, the promise is checked against the receipts in your Tally books and marked kept, part paid or missed, and the missed ones are listed in the next morning's daily brief. The Recovery screen also shows who on your team is chasing which party, how much has come back, and which overdue parties nobody has touched. Your Tally ledgers stay exactly as they are. The follow-up record lives in Takkada, right beside the outstanding it explains.
The part of recovery Tally does not hold
Tally tells you what a party owes and how old each bill is. It has no place for the fact that your salesman met the party on Tuesday, that the party promised ₹38,000 by the 20th, or that your accountant rang the same party on Wednesday without knowing. That history usually sits in a notebook or one person's memory, and it leaves the office when that person goes on leave. A recovery dashboard gives it a home that every phone in your team reads.
Logging a follow-up from the party's row
The Log follow-up sheet asks four short things. How did you reach them: Call, WhatsApp, In person or Other. What happened: Will pay, No answer, Wrong number, Disputes amount, Refused or Other. Then an optional promise to pay, which takes an amount and a date together, an optional next follow-up date, and an optional note for the words that matter, like "cheque after GST refund".
Above the form, Already tried shows the last five entries on that party, each with the name of the person who logged it. So before you dial, you can see whether a colleague already spoke to them today. If there is no signal, the entry is saved on the phone and syncs when the connection returns.
What happens to a promise after its date
When the promised date has passed, the party's receipts in Tally up to that date decide the status: fully covered reads Promise kept, partly covered reads Part paid, and nothing reads Promise missed.
There is one safeguard. If Takkada's copy of your Tally data has not yet caught up past the promised date, the promise waits as Awaiting confirmation. That keeps a party from being called a defaulter on books that are a day behind.
The Recovery screen, tab by tab
Recovery sits inside the Collect tab. At the top is the daily brief, built each morning, with Promises due today, Follow-ups due, Missed promises, Awaiting confirmation and Top overdue. A Share on WhatsApp button sends its text to whoever you pick.
Below it are five tabs. Parties and Bills are the Collections and Bills Receivable reports with follow-ups built in. Habits shows how each party pays and needs Reports+. Team shows Recovered, Still out, Dealers worked and Promises kept, then each member's figures, with a last line for overdue parties nobody has chased. History shows one card per party, latest activity first, with its newest entry, how many logs it has and any open promise; tap a card to see that party's last five entries.
Who is chasing whom
Each party on the Parties tab shows the name of the person chasing it, taken from whoever last logged a follow-up, or Not yet chased. A company admin can move a party to someone else, which is how a ₹2 lakh party stops slipping between two salesmen. More on the Team tab in the collection team board.
Where reminders and AI calls fit
Routine nudging can run on its own through payment reminders from Tally on WhatsApp. If AI calling is on for your business, each AI call's result lands on the same follow-up log, tagged AI, as described in AI calling for payment collection. Either way, the owner reads one history per party.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does logging a follow-up change anything in Tally?
A: No. Follow-ups and promises are kept in Takkada. Takkada only reads your Tally receipts to check promises.
Q: How does Takkada know a promise was missed?
A: After the promised date, it adds up the receipts entered in your Tally books for that party up to that date. Nothing received reads Promise missed, part of it reads Part paid. If the Tally data has not caught up yet, the promise shows Awaiting confirmation.
Q: Can every salesman see every party?
A: A member limited to certain parties sees only those parties in his daily brief, so a field collector works his own list.
Q: Is the recovery dashboard part of every plan?
A: It is part of the Enterprise plan, and it can be added to other plans as an add-on.
