What Takkada Can (and Can't) Automate in Your Tally

Takkada automates the repetitive, rule-based work around your Tally books: dispatching each invoice to the retailer's WhatsApp when it is saved, sending scheduled payment reminders as bills come due, collecting on a 0% MDR UPI link, reconciling the receipt back into Tally against the right invoice, and turning a supplier's PDF bill into a Tally purchase entry. What it does not automate is judgment. Tally stays the system of record, so nothing moves off your data file. Credit decisions, genuine disputes, and receipts that could settle several bills in different ways are all held for a person to clear. Some pieces are also plan or add-on gated rather than on for everyone: Auto Invoice Dispatch and Import-from-PDF live in the Full Access plan, with add-on paths on Collections. The honest summary is that Takkada removes the typing, not the deciding, and it removes it only where a fixed rule always gives the right answer.

Key Highlights

  • Takkada automates five rule-based jobs: invoice dispatch, payment reminders, UPI collection, receipt reconciliation, and supplier-PDF purchase entry
  • It deliberately does not automate judgment. Credit calls, real disputes, and ambiguous receipts are routed to a human with the context attached
  • Some automations are plan or add-on gated (Auto Invoice Dispatch, Import-from-PDF, Reports+), and Tally always stays the system of record

What Takkada Automates, Plainly

These are the jobs where a fixed rule always produces the right result, so a machine can do them the moment the trigger fires.

  • Invoice dispatch. When an invoice is saved in Tally, its PDF and details go to the retailer's WhatsApp within seconds, no forwarding step.
  • Payment reminders. As a bill nears or crosses its due date, a reminder goes out on schedule with a UPI link, the tone matched to how overdue it is.
  • UPI collection. The retailer taps the link and pays on a 0% MDR rail straight to the distributor's own handle.
  • Reconciliation. When the money lands, the receipt is matched to its open invoice and posted back into Tally as a receipt voucher.
  • Purchase entry from PDF. A supplier's PDF bill is read into a Tally purchase voucher for the accountant to confirm.

Each of these has its own guide, from receipts posting back on their own to the full collections loop on autopilot. The common thread is that a person used to type the result, and now the event does.

What Takkada Does Not Automate, and Why

This is the part most tools skip, and it matters more than the feature list.

Takkada does not make credit decisions. Whether a retailer who is 45 days late gets a fresh order or a hold is a call the owner keeps, because it depends on the relationship and the risk, not on a rule.

Takkada does not resolve disputes. When a retailer says the rate or the quantity is wrong, a human has to check the delivery and decide. The software surfaces the dispute early; it does not settle it.

Takkada does not guess at ambiguous receipts. When one payment could close three different combinations of open bills, auto-reconciliation flags it for review rather than picking one and corrupting the outstanding report. Roughly a small share of receipts land in this exception queue, and the accountant clears them in a few minutes each morning.

Takkada does not chase for you after the escalation point. A well-overdue account routes to the owner because a phone call from a person, at that stage, is the tool, not another automated message.

What Is Plan or Add-On Gated

Automation is not one switch that is either on or off for everyone. Some pieces sit in specific plans.

Auto Invoice Dispatch is the headline feature of the Full Access plan, and it is available as an add-on on the Collections plan. Import-from-PDF for supplier bills is bundled into Full Access and available as an add-on on Collections. Advanced business reporting comes through the Reports+ add-on. Reminders and UPI collection sit in the collection-focused plans. The full pricing and plans guide lays out which plan carries what, so nobody buys expecting an automation that their plan does not include.

What Takkada Never Touches in Your Tally

Scope-honesty runs the other way too. There are things Takkada will not do to your data, by design.

It does not edit or delete your existing vouchers. It writes new vouchers (receipts, and purchase entries you confirm) and leaves your history read-only. It does not move your books off Tally or keep a competing copy that drifts. Tally stays the single source of truth, and Takkada reads from it and writes back over a two-way sync. Your accountant's month-end, your ledgers, and your company file all stay exactly as they are. This is the same continuity described in what Takkada is: a layer on top of Tally, not a replacement for it.

How to Think About the Split

The clean way to hold it: Takkada automates the typing, not the thinking. If a task always has one correct answer given the rule (this invoice goes to this WhatsApp number, this UTR settles this bill), it runs on its own. If a task needs judgment (how much credit, which dispute is real, which allocation is right), it comes to a person with the work of gathering the facts already done.

A distributor who understands that split gets the benefit without the surprise. The hours of mechanical entry disappear, the decisions stay where they belong, and Tally keeps being the book everyone trusts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does Takkada automate in Tally?

A: It automates five rule-based jobs: dispatching each saved invoice to the retailer's WhatsApp, sending scheduled payment reminders as bills come due, collecting on a 0% MDR UPI link, reconciling the receipt back into Tally against the right invoice, and converting a supplier's PDF bill into a Tally purchase entry. All of it reads from and writes back to your existing Tally file.

Q: What does Takkada not automate?

A: Judgment. Credit decisions, genuine disputes over rate or quantity, and ambiguous receipts that could settle several bills are all held for a human. The software gathers the context and routes these to the owner or accountant rather than guessing, so your outstanding report stays correct.

Q: Does Takkada change or delete anything in my Tally?

A: No. It writes new vouchers (receipts, and purchase entries you confirm) and treats your existing data as read-only. It does not edit or delete historical vouchers, and it does not move your books off Tally. Tally stays the system of record and the two stay in sync.

Q: Is every automation included in every plan?

A: No. Auto Invoice Dispatch is the headline of the Full Access plan and an add-on on Collections, Import-from-PDF is bundled in Full Access and an add-on on Collections, and advanced reporting is the Reports+ add-on. Reminders and UPI collection sit in the collection-focused plans. The pricing guide shows the exact split.

Q: How much still needs human review after automation?

A: Only the exceptions. Most receipts reconcile cleanly on their own, and a small share that are ambiguous or unmatched land in a queue the accountant clears in a few minutes each morning. Disputes and credit calls arrive as they happen. The routine typing goes to zero; the decisions stay with you.
