You can see your Tally trial balance on your phone from Financial Statements on the Reports screen, as a flat list read from the Tally books synced to the device. The trial balance tally mobile view has no ledger drill-down. Group to sub-group to ledger is the Balance Sheet. On the second of the month the CA WhatsApps "TB bhej do" while the owner is still at Fancy Bazaar, and the list opens without the office desktop. Each line is a ledger with a debit or a credit, the same shape Tally prints. Type Sharma in the search box and Sharma Kirana's line is there if it has a balance. PDF and Excel export sit behind a chooser sheet, and Tally-format export exists for the layout the CA expects. When the Balance Sheet shows a Difference row, the synced books need attention in Tally. The Trial Balance itself stays a list.

What a trial balance tally mobile view actually shows
A Trial Balance is every ledger in the books with a debit or a credit, so the two sides can be read together. For a Guwahati FMCG distributor with 80-odd retail parties, that list is Sales, Purchase, the sundry debtors, the sundry creditors, cash, bank, stock, and the rest of the groups Tally already holds. On the phone it is that same list, read from the Tally books synced to the device.
It answers one month-end question well: do the books still foot in the shape the CA expects, and what is the closing figure on this ledger. It does not tell you which of Sharma Kirana's invoices is 47 days old. That is Bills Receivable, covered in the aging report in Tally. It does not tell you today's vouchers. That is Daybook.
The Reports screen splits in two. Financial Statements hold Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and MIS Reports. Action Reports hold Collections, Bills Receivable, Bills Payable, Sales Analytics, Customer Analytics, Cross-sell Gaps, Inventory, Purchase Analytics and Daybook. Trial Balance sits in the first group, next to the two statements the CA also asks for. The working-day order of those reports is the daily checklist for Tally reports.
Opening Trial Balance from Financial Statements
Tea can wait. The CA's message arrived at 9:10. Reports, Financial Statements, Trial Balance. The list loads from the synced books. There is no second copy of Tally on the phone. The numbers are the books you already keep.
Party search on every report is a search box. You type a name. Sharma brings Sharma Kirana of Fancy Bazaar if that ledger has a balance. There is no picker and no multi-select. Access to the Reports tab is permission-controlled per team member. A salesman without that permission does not see reports at all, including this list.
The wider set of Tally reports on mobile is how the phone reads the same Tally books through the day. Trial Balance is the month-end member of that set, not the 8:30 one.
Why the list is flat, and where drill-down lives
Each Trial Balance row is a ledger name and an amount. Tapping a row does not open the voucher that built the figure. Tapping a row does not open Sharma's pending bills. The trial balance tally mobile screen is a flat list. That is the honest limit, and it is the one a careful owner asks about before he stands in Fancy Bazaar promising the CA a drill he cannot do from this report.
Group to sub-group to ledger is the Balance Sheet. If you need to walk Sundry Debtors down to Sharma Kirana's ledger, that path is on reading the Balance Sheet on the phone. When the synced books do not foot, the Balance Sheet shows a Difference row. The Trial Balance will not rewrite Tally for you.
MIS Reports, also under Financial Statements, are a 12-month grid with a total column and no drill-down of their own. They are a different question, written up as MIS versus Profit and Loss.
Month-end with the CA at Fancy Bazaar
The second of the month is when this report earns its slot. The owner is still on the counter. The CA wants the Trial Balance before lunch so the GST working can start. Opening the office desktop means a ride across Guwahati or a call to the accountant who is already on another voucher. The phone list is the same books.
What the owner actually checks, standing next to the mustard-oil stack: Sales and Purchase look like the year he thinks he had. Sundry Debtors is in the neighbourhood of the ₹1,85,000 Sharma plus the rest of the 80 parties, not a surprise lakh. Cash and bank are not negative because a contra was parked wrong. If a line is a surprise, the next stop is Tally on the desktop, or the Balance Sheet drill, not a guess typed into a WhatsApp to the CA.
Profit & Loss is the income-against-expense twin, also from the synced books, on the profit and loss statement from Tally on mobile. The Trial Balance is the list that sits under both.
Sharing the Trial Balance from the phone
The CA asked for a file, not a screenshot of a scroll. PDF and Excel export exist for Trial Balance, behind a chooser sheet. Tally-format export, the layout Tally itself prints, exists for five statutory reports: Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Bills Payable and Bills Receivable. Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet export in that Tally format only for the current period. Trial Balance is on that list, which is why this is the file the CA is used to seeing.
Every exported PDF or Excel goes through the phone's share sheet, where you pick WhatsApp, or email, or Drive. That is how the Trial Balance leaves the phone at 9:20, still at Fancy Bazaar. The walk-through of Tally-format files is Tally-format export from the phone.
A party's ledger statement is a different document. Sharma's "bhai, statement bhej do" is the party-page path, not this list.
When a line looks wrong
A Trial Balance line that looks off is almost always a voucher in Tally, not a phone glitch. A sales return sitting in the wrong ledger, a journal parked on the owner instead of the party, a stock journal that never posted. The phone is reading the synced books. Fix the books in Tally, wait for the sync, open the list again.
If the Balance Sheet has a non-zero Difference row, that row is the signal to stop and look in Tally. The phone does not rewrite vouchers to clear it. Do not send the CA a Trial Balance while that Difference is sitting on the other statement.
Collections Outstanding at 8:30 and Daybook at noon still do the daily work. Trial Balance is the month-end check that the books you have been running all month still stand up as a list.
What the owner scrolls before sending
The owner actually scrolls three groups before he sends anything. Sundry Debtors, to see whether Sharma's ₹1,85,000 plus the rest still looks like eighty parties on 30-day terms. Sales and Purchase, to see whether August's billing is in the books at all. Cash and bank, because a contra posted to the wrong account is the kind of error the CA will call about at 4 PM. None of those taps open a voucher. They are lines on a flat list.
If Sales looks ₹80,000 light against the ₹42,00,000 he saw on the This Financial Year band at 8:30, Daybook for Last 30 days, chip Sales, is the next screen. Tally on the desktop is the one after that. The Trial Balance told him the line was light. It did not name the missing invoices.
Same sitting, he opens Profit & Loss only after the Trial Balance list looks like the year he thinks he had. Sending the CA a TB of books he has not even scanned is how 4 PM becomes a second WhatsApp thread. Five minutes of scrolling at Fancy Bazaar is cheaper than an afternoon of the accountant reconstructing a voucher from memory.
A line named after a godown or a salesman is still a ledger line. There is no godown filter and no salesman filter on this report. Godown is its own report. If you need stock by location, that is the stock summary path, not a Trial Balance chip.
